Starlight Capital announces the termination of Starlight Enhanced Yield Fund and Starlight Canadian Financial Services Covered Call Fund

TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Starlight Investments Capital LP (“Starlight Capital”) today announced the termination of Starlight Enhanced Yield Fund and Starlight Canadian Financial Services Covered Call Fund (the “Funds”), effective at the close of business on or about November 17, 2023 (the “Termination Date”).

The decision to terminate the Funds was made in consideration of the small number of unitholders, the Funds small asset size, limited demand from new investors, and the higher operating costs borne by unitholders to maintain these smaller Funds.

Effective September 26, 2023, units of the Funds will no longer be available for purchase, and Starlight Capital will stop accepting purchases and switches into the Funds (including transactions from systematic plans).

Prior to the Termination Date, unitholders may transfer their investment to another Fund managed by Starlight Capital or redeem their units. Any fees, including early redemption fees, will be waived after September 26, 2023.

Unitholders who remain holding the Funds in client-name accounts (both registered and non-registered, with the exception of locked-in plans) and/or nominee/intermediary held accounts (both registered and non-registered) will have their units redeemed on or about the Termination Date. Unitholders who remain holding the Funds in client-name locked-in plans will have their units switched to the same series of Starlight Global Balanced Fund.

Starlight Capital strongly encourages unitholders in the Funds to consult with their financial advisor(s) to discuss investment options and determine any tax implications associated with redeeming units of the Funds.
