AM Best to Join MGA-Focused Panel at Inside P&C New York Conference

OLDWICK, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--AM Best Director Robert Raber will be part of a panel discussion on the expanding managing general agents’ (MGA) market at the upcoming Inside P&C New York Conference, being held Sept. 26-27, 2023, in New York.

Raber’s panel discussion, titled, “What Lies Ahead for MGAs,” is scheduled for Sept. 27, at 11:25 a.m. (EDT). The panel will explore how carriers and reinsurers are beginning to take a more delegated authority approach to penetrate the market; the abundance of underwriting talent: and how the continued dislocation of the property market has created a growing demand for insurers and reinsurers to get catastrophe risks off their balance sheets. Joining Raber on the panel will be Prashanth Gangu, president, Corvus Insurance, and Steve Dresner, president, Everspan Group. Raber has been with AM Best for 15 years and is responsible for managing a team of rating analysts covering property/casualty and life/annuity insurance companies. He also is a member of the internal team that developed Best’s Performance Assessment for Delegated Underwriting Authority Enterprises, such as MGAs and other similar entities.

Inside P&C New York, which will be held at the Westin New York at Times Square, will feature interactive sessions that combine practical insights and experiences from industry experts and market practitioners, covering a wide range of topics. Inside P&C is part of the Insider Publishing Group. To learn more about the conference, please visit the official event page.
