NSA’s Bailey Bickley Joins CMMC CON 2023 to Discuss In-Depth Planning Strategies

RESTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Enforcement of the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) 2.0 program is closer than ever now that the Department of Defense (DoD) has sent the proposed rule to the Office of Management and Budget. Compliance with CMMC will soon be the new normal for federal contractors as a condition of a contract with the DoD.

CyberSheath, the largest CMMC managed service vendor, aims to help prime and subcontractors meet the compliance challenge at its free, virtual CMMC CON 2023 event on Sept. 27. As part of an incredible lineup of experts and patriots, Bailey Bickley, the Chief of DIB Defense at the National Security Agency’s (NSA) Cybersecurity Collaboration Center (CCC), will join the event for an interview session covering strategy and technology.

Her extensive knowledge will provide key insight to DIB companies as they adapt to CMMC 2.0. CyberSheath research shows the average Supplier Performance Risk System (SPRS) score for DIB contractors falls well short of what’s required for Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) compliance.

“We’re at a pivotal moment in our federal government’s cybersecurity storyline as everyday America’s adversaries work to compromise defense contractors’ networks,” said Eric Noonan, CEO and Founder of CyberSheath, who will conduct an exclusive interview with Bickley. “Bailey’s insights will be invaluable to any organization seeking to understand and adapt to cybersecurity threats so we can keep our nation’s military secrets safe.”

Bickley is responsible for key initiatives to evolve the CCC and deliver intel-driven cybersecurity solutions across the DIB and has revitalized the way the NSA engages with the cybersecurity community at the unclassified level. She has worked across two intelligence community agencies, as well as in the private sector.

“The NSA’s goal is to provide practical advice on how organizations can navigate these changes and ensure they are prepared to meet the new requirements,” Bickley said. “Together, we can strengthen our cybersecurity defenses and protect our nation's critical information.”
