EQM Indexes Online Retail Index Adds Omnichannel Retail Segment
Thought leader in online retail indexes has recognized omnichannel as a retail segment of rising importance as “bricks meet clicks”.
SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--San Diego-based index developer EQM Indexes announces an important enhancement to its Online Retail Index (IBUYXT), adding a new retail segment called “omnichannel”. Omnichannel retail integrates traditional and online channels to create a cohesive customer-centric experience regardless of the platform or method used to originate a purchase.
Omnichannel retail includes innovative features with regard to purchasing options, search, cart sharing, earned rewards, ease of returns, delivery options, pricing unity, and payment flexibility, that integrate with online and mobile to improve the customer experience. Index components in the omnichannel retail category will be limited to 10% in aggregate weight and will include companies such as: Walmart, Home Depot, Williams-Sonoma, Lululemon and others who are important innovators in omnichannel retail. In order to qualify, omnichannel retailers with a physical presence must derive at least 10% of their annual retail sales online, representing at least $2 billion in revenue, or be in the top 5 of global online retail market share.
