Prominent Atlanta Business Woman Climbs Mount Whitney in Honor of BlazeSports America

Fifth Annual Moving Mountains Climb to Raise Funds for Local Atlanta Nonprofit

Who:

Lisa Simmons, president of Beacon Management in Atlanta and board member of BlazeSports America. BlazeSports America was founded in 1996 after the Paralympic Games in Atlanta, Georgia to help and support ongoing programming in adaptive sport, recreation, and physical activity for Georgia’s youth, adults, veterans, and military personnel with physical disabilities and PTSD.

 

 

What:

The fifth anniversary of Simmons first climb for BlazeSports America.

 

 

Why:

In the past four years, Simmons has raised $125,000 for BlazeSports America with her “Moving Mountains” fundraising climbs. Simmons has climbed Machu Picchu via the Inca Trail in Peru, Mount Kilimanjaro, the tallest mountain in Africa, and the Rim-To-Rim climb across the Grand Canyon. All funds raised will go entirely to BlazeSports America.

 

 

Where:

Mount Whitney in California, the tallest mountain in the continental United States.

 

 

When:

August 16 – 18, 2023 (Climb Dates)

Lisa is President of Beacon Management Services, an Atlanta-based real estate management company, and BlazeSports board member. She previously climbed Mont Blanc, Western Europe’s tallest mountain in 2022; to the top of Machu Picchu via Inca Trail in 2021; Mount Kilimanjaro in 2019; and the epic Rim to Rim trail across the Grand Canyon in 2018 to raise money for BlazeSports. She pays for her own trips and 100% of the money raised goes entirely to BlazeSports.
