TCW Names Peter Van Gelderen as Global Co-Head of the Securitized Group

Veteran portfolio manager brings significant global securitized and structured products experience to expand global investment capabilities

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The TCW Group, a global independent asset management firm, today announced that Peter Van Gelderen will join the Firm as Global Co-Head of the Securitized Group. He joins Elizabeth (Liza) Crawford who has been Global Co-Head of Securitized since 2020. Together, they will lead securitized product research and investment decisions to support the expansion of TCW’s fixed income assets and capabilities. He assumes his role in early October 2023 and will report to the firm’s Co-Chief Investment Officers Stephen Kane and Bryan Whalen.

Mr. Van Gelderen brings nearly two decades of experience in structured and securitized products. Most recently, he was Senior Portfolio Manager and Head of Securitized Markets at American Century Investments, where he was responsible for all Core, Core Plus, Income and Government mortgage funds and ETFs. Within Securitized Markets, he oversaw a broad range of products across credit sub-sectors. Previously, he was Co-Head of Guggenheim Partners’ $38 billion Structured Credit investment desk for eight years, where he guided investment strategy and oversaw investment sourcing, analysis and trade execution. Mr. Van Gelderen also served as a Senior Trader and Portfolio Manager for Structured Products at Stark Investments and Vice President of Whole Loan Transaction Management at Countrywide Securities Corporation.

Mr. Van Gelderen earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Duke University and his Juris Doctorate from Georgetown University Law Center.
