Dr. Eric Beck Succeeds ESO Founder Chris Dillie as CEO

Beck joined the company as president in 2022

AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ESO, the leading data and software company serving emergency medical services (EMS), fire departments, hospitals, state and federal agencies today announced Eric Beck as new CEO. He will also continue his role as president. Beck will oversee ESO’s growth strategy and continue to accelerate ESO’s mission to improve community health and safety through the power of data.

Founder and former CEO, Chris Dillie, will move into an Executive Chair role on the ESO board as part of the planned succession.

“In his 10 years at ESO as a board member and, more recently, president, Eric has already made a significant impact on the organization,” said Dillie. “His passion for and commitment to our company, our mission and our customers is a perfect match for the future of ESO. He jumped in feet first and hasn’t looked back. He will continue to be instrumental in helping us more quickly deliver on our vision to provide quality data and meaningful insights across EMS, the fire service and hospitals at the local, regional and national levels.”

Beck began his career as a firefighter and paramedic in Ohio prior to becoming an emergency physician. He previously served as an EMS Medical Director for the city of Chicago. Most recently Beck was the president and COO of the University Hospitals Health System in Ohio (UH), where he was instrumental in leading the regional COVID-19 response, refreshing system strategy and maturing the integrated operating model across the 23-hospital health system. Before UH, he was the president of the clinical enterprise at the University of North Texas Health Sciences Center (UNTHSC), as well as president and CEO of Evolution Health.

“The opportunity to enable communities in improving health and safety through the power of data has never been more profound,” said Beck. “The company is at an important inflection point with significant momentum behind it to drive outcome improvement at scale – across public safety and healthcare – for communities, responders, clinicians, patients and researchers throughout North America and, eventually, the globe.”
