Becker Bolsters Instructor Corps with Addition of Award-Winning Accounting Educator Dr. Kelly Richmond Pope

Dr. Pope joins Becker lineup of world-class educators

ST. LOUIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Becker, a global leader in accounting exam prep and professional education, announced today that Dr. Kelly Richmond Pope, the Dr. Barry Jay Epstein Endowed Professor of Accounting at DePaul University, is joining their team as a Faculty Fellow. Pope will teach classes for Becker’s core course offerings of CPA exam prep, CMA exam prep, and CPE continuing education and will create national instructor videos and develop curriculum.

Dr. Pope is a Becker CPA Review alumna and a licensed CPA. She is also a nationally recognized expert in enterprise risk, forensic accounting, and white-collar crime research as well as an award-winning educator, researcher, author, and award-winning documentary filmmaker. Dr. Pope teaches managerial and forensic accounting both at the undergraduate and graduate level at DePaul University. Her Faculty Fellow position with Becker begins immediately, with her first classes to be announced later this summer.

In addition to being a professor at DePaul University, Dr. Pope currently serves on the board of directors for the Greater Chicago Food Depository (GCFD) and chairs its audit committee. She is a former director and finance committee chair for Mercy Hospital & Medical Center, former director of the Illinois CPA Society, and former member of the governing council for AICPA. She was also named among the top 25 most powerful women in accounting in 2020 and 2023 by the AICPA and the CPA Practice Advisor. In June of 2023, she was honored by the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) with the Earl S. Bigget National Achievement in Education Award.
