Gateway First Bank Named Top Performing Bank by American Banker

TULSA, Okla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Gateway First Bank has claimed the number one spot of the 20 top-performing banks with $2B to $10B in assets by American Banker, the leading publication relating to banking. The annual ranking looks at how larger community banks are performing based on several key metrics.

Banks with assets between $2 billion and $10 billion were ranked based on their three-year average return on average equity. The average of this figure for the top 20 banks in this asset category came in at 21.11%. According to American Banker, this was significantly better than the average of all the banks in this asset class, which posted 11.61% for this metric.

"We are extremely pleased to not only make the list and ranked as the number one bank in the country but also the only Oklahoma bank ranked in the top 20," said Gateway First Bank CEO Scott Gesell. "The Gateway team has worked extremely hard over the past five years as we have transitioned from being a successful mortgage company to a full-service bank. We are growing, and our future is bright!"
