KBRA Joins ESG Integrated Disclosure Project’s Executive Committee

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--KBRA is pleased to announce that Pat Welch, Chief ESG and Ratings Policy Officer, will represent KBRA on the ESG Integrated Disclosure Project’s (ESG IDP) Executive Committee. ESG IDP is an industry initiative bringing together participants in the private credit and syndicated loan markets to encourage more transparency and consistency for environmental, social, and governance disclosures within the credit space.

ESG IDP’s goal is to promote greater harmonization and accountability in the disclosure and reporting of key ESG indicators within private credit markets. KBRA fully supports this mission and believes that greater transparency will benefit all financial market participants as better-quality information is needed to understand and analyze the financial materiality of ESG issues.

“As a credit rating agency, we know how hard it can be to access detailed and comparable data. In the ESG space, data quality, consistency, and coverage present real challenges for the market. KBRA has been heavily focused on facilitating better quality and more consistent ESG disclosures, and the ESG IDP is a very important step to enhancing this data in the private credit and syndicated loan space. We are excited to be a part of these efforts,” said Pat Welch.

The ESG IDP was formed by the Alternative Credit Council (ACC), the private credit affiliate of the Alternative Investment Management Association (AIMA), the LSTA, and the Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) in cooperation with a group of leading alternative asset managers and credit investors. The ESG IDP is also supported by a coalition of market stakeholders including CDP, the ESG Data Convergence Initiative, and the Loan Market Association.
