Upland Community “FURst Aid Faire” Helps Save the Lives of Shelter Pets
UPLAND, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Friends of Upland Animal Shelter is hosting a family friendly fair along with other local community organizations. Admission to the fair is free, and any proceeds from prize drawings and donations go to Friends of Upland Animal Shelter’s FURst Aid Campaign which provides life-saving medical services for abandoned and abused animals.
The fair, which is happening on Sunday, June 25, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Upland Memorial Park, 1100 E. Foothill Blvd, Upland, will have pet adoptions, vendors, food, live music, and entertainment for people of all ages, including:
- Classic car show;
- Police K-9 demonstrations by Upland Police Department and the Inland Empire Police Canine Association;
- Representatives from Upland Community Response Team (CERT), San Bernadino County Emergency Operations Center, and West Valley Mosquito Vector Control;
- Complementary pet services for the public, including nail trims and ear cleaning, offered by West Coast Grooming Academy;
- Low-cost pet vaccinations and microchipping by Friends of Upland Animal Shelter from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.;
- A License & Microchip Clinic hosted by the City of Upland at Upland Animal Shelter from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Upland residents will receive a free microchip with the purchase of a City of Upland dog license; and,
- Prize drawings, including tickets to Disneyland and other local attractions, and a variety of other prizes donated by local businesses and generous supporters.
As a special treat, ACME Time Machine, California’s premier classic oldies band, will play groundbreaking hits of the 50’s, 60’s and the decades that followed.
Everyone is invited including well-behaved dogs on 6-foot leashes!

About Friends
Friends of Upland Animal Shelter is a local non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to saving shelter pets at Upland Animal Shelter and in the Inland Empire region. They operate the Upland Animal Shelter on behalf of the City of Upland and are responsible for sheltering and finding homes for all animals that are available for adoption. They provide these services free of charge to the City while also maintaining low-cost adoption fees for the community. They also operate 2nd Chance Thrift Shop at 972 W. 9th Street and FURniture & More at 964 W. 9th Street in Upland to help offset the cost of operating the shelter.
