St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital Featured on Episode Two of New FOX Television Series Gordon Ramsay’s Food Stars

MEMPHIS, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital was featured on episode two of all-new competition series Gordon Ramsay’s Food Stars, airing on FOX (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT). Contestants were challenged to host their very own gala (food, drink and a presentation) to benefit St. Jude. Between the two teams, a total of $110,000 was raised to benefit the lifesaving mission of St. Jude: Finding cures. Saving children.

Chris Boysen, Sr. Vice President of Field Development & Experiential Programs for ALSAC, the fundraising and awareness organization for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, served as a special guest. Instead of extras, the audience was filled with St. Jude donors, volunteers and supporters.

“We’re incredibly grateful to have our mission showcased on Gordon Ramsay’s Food Stars,” said Boysen. “Thanks to Gordon and his team for their continued support of our lifesaving work which brings hope to kids everywhere.”

For children with cancer and other life-threatening diseases, like sickle cell disease, good nutrition is essential. When in treatment, some patients may lose their appetite, while others have specific cravings, so the chefs at the St. Jude cafeteria, Kay Kafe, even create dishes for individual patient requests.

Funds raised through dinner and gala events and corporate partners like Gordon Ramsay North America help ensure families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing, or food, so they can focus on helping their child live.
