Dennis Zervos to Retire as Regional Vice President – Underwriting

ST. LOUIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Safety National announced today that Dennis Zervos will retire as Regional Vice President – Underwriting on June 2, 2023.

Zervos retires from an accomplished career spanning over 30 years in the industry. After serving in management positions for a prominent national insurance carrier, Zervos joined Safety National in 2009 in conjunction with the opening of the company’s New York office. Over the years, Zervos created a strong foothold for Safety National, acting as the lead Large Casualty field underwriting presence throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic territories. In addition to maintaining long-standing broker and risk manager relationships, Zervos went on to become a member of Safety National’s casualty leadership team, managing a unit of field casualty and excess production underwriters in the New York and Philadelphia regional offices. He has been instrumental in the Large Casualty unit’s success over his time with Safety National, playing a key role in the division’s development and profitable growth.

“On behalf of the company, I would like to express deep gratitude to Dennis Zervos for his leadership and strategic contributions that have helped make Safety National a highly-respected, top-rated casualty carrier in the market,” said Gus Aivaliotis, Chief Underwriting Officer of Safety National. “Along with an impressive production track record, Dennis brought a customer-focused approach that has made him a well-known and well-respected presence in the risk management community. He will be missed by many.”

Jeffrey Levans, Vice President – Insurance Underwriting, has been appointed to replace Zervos to provide Large Casualty underwriting management and oversight of the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic territories effective June 1, 2023. He brings a wealth of knowledge to the position, with 20 years of experience serving in various leadership roles at nationally-known insurance carriers. Levans will report to Stephen Cotnoir, Executive Director of Casualty Field Underwriting, and will operate out of Safety National’s Philadelphia and New York regional offices.
