Xsolla Appoints Chris Hewish as Interim CEO to Continue Its Global Expansion and Employee Growth

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Xsolla, a global video game commerce company, announced today the appointment of Chris Hewish as the Interim CEO. Hewish, who has significantly contributed to the company's growth to over 800 employees and its global expansion during his tenure as President, brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to his new role.

Hewish is an award-winning Interactive Executive and Studio Head who has been instrumental in driving operations and go-to-market strategies across all segments of the video game industry. His extensive background includes leading multi-team studios and worldwide interactive business units at public and private companies, including Activision, DreamWorks Animation, Survios, Skydance, and Xsolla.

An avid gamer, Hewish has turned his passion into a successful career, designing and producing over 50 games, collectively generating more than $1 billion in sales. His dynamic skill set combines a developer's design and production skills, the strategic understanding of a publisher, and a media executive's brand and marketing sensibilities. He boasts a rare and successful combination of creative and business acumen in an ever-changing industry.

With experience developing games in nearly every genre and platform and utilizing a variety of business models, Hewish is a cross-disciplinary executive. He has built and operated Publishing, Marketing, Biz Dev, and Licensing departments for major game and media companies; where he has designed and produced award-winning games for Console, PC, Mobile, and VR platforms. Furthermore, his entrepreneurial spirit is evident in his successful startup and turnaround experience with several game companies.

Hewish's appointment comes following the role change of previous CEO Konstantin Golubitsky, who stepped up from CTO to CEO to accelerate Xsolla's growth. During Golubitsky's tenure, Xsolla has seen significant growth and has secured partnerships with major players like Epic Games, NetEase, Nexters, Roblox Corporation, Twitch, and Ubisoft.

As Interim CEO, Hewish will continue to drive Xsolla's global business, while nurturing the company's culture and workforce.
