DMI Appoints Rocky Thurston as Chief Executive Officer

BETHESDA, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--DMI, a global digital transformation solutions company, today announced that Rocky Thurston has been appointed Chief Executive Officer. Rocky succeeds Sunny Bajaj, the company’s founder, who served as Chief Executive Officer since 2002 and will remain on DMI’s board of directors. Rocky joined DMI as Chief Operating Officer in January 2022 and has worked closely with Sunny to oversee the strategic development, operations, and growth initiatives of the company since that time.

This appointment follows a strategic transformation which better positions DMI to serve its government and commercial customers. Over the past year, DMI has completed important growth initiatives to expand the company’s digital solutions and managed services offering, leveraging disruptive commercial technologies to accelerate growth with government and commercial clients, making this the right time to transition the executive leadership position. Among these activities, Rocky has been pivotal in the acquisition and integration of three complementary businesses, including, most recently, Simplex Mobility, a leading provider of asset and expense management software. Prior to joining DMI, Rocky held leadership positions at Peraton, Accenture, and Lockheed Martin, among others, where he gained valuable experience in general management, business development, and merger and acquisition activities across government and commercial sectors.
