AM Best to Sponsor and Participate at Program Manager Conference and Awards 2023

OLDWICK, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--AM Best will sponsor and participate in the second annual Program Manager Conference and Awards, which will take place May 17, 2023, in New York.

AM Best Rating Services CEO and President Matthew C. Mosher will participate in the opening panel discussion at the event, titled, “The Future of the MGA and Program Sector.” As insurers are increasingly using distribution partners, or Delegated Underwriting Authority Enterprises (DUAE), the importance of DUAEs, which include managing general agents (MGA) and other similar underwriting entities, have gained tremendous importance within the insurance ecosystem. Topics to be discussed during the session will include secular and cyclical growth drivers within the sector and whether the recent momentum can be sustained; evolving carrier-MGA relationships; talent migration; emerging trends for fronting carriers; how entities are harnessing innovation; and technology as an enabler. Joining Mosher on the C-suite panel is Simon Hedley, chief executive officer, Acrisure Re; Erik Matson, chairman and CEO, Transverse; Denise Olson, head of programs, Zurich North America; and Bob Petrilli, president, Amwins Underwriting. Mosher also will serve on the judging panel for the awards portion of the event.

The one-day event will take place at Gotham Hall in Midtown Manhattan; AM Best is a sponsor. Program Manager is a sister publication of The Insurer and is solely focused on the rapidly growing U.S. program insurance sector. Given the rising prominence of the entire DUAE market within the insurance industry, AM Best introduced its industry-first Best’s Performance Assessments in 2022 to provide an objective, independent opinion of a DUAE’s ability to perform services on behalf of its insurance partners, and a framework for differentiating among DUAEs.
