Capterra Launches Service Provider Marketplace, Expanding its Leadership in Helping Organizations Discover, Evaluate and Access the Critical Resources They Need to Grow

With the addition of services listings to its software discovery offering, Capterra addresses an acute marketplace need – as among those B2B seeking services, 86% do so because of a lack of bandwidth or specific expertise.

ARLINGTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Capterra, the leading global marketplace connecting software buyers and sellers, today announced the launch of its service provider marketplace. A complement to its software discovery offering, this new services marketplace will ensure businesses are not only able to quickly find and evaluate the software they need to grow, but to also tap into the external partners they need to transform their business. This new offering is particularly helpful to the millions of organizations turning to outside specialist providers in order to remedy bandwidth and expertise issues.

In fact, Capterra’s Business Services Users Survey of over 1,000 recent purchasers reveals organizations seeking service providers are far more likely to do so purely to address bandwidth shortages (44%) rather than to solely address a lack of in-house expertise (31%). Further, these outsourcing decisions are highly consequential with purchasers spending an average of $73,800 on their most recent engagement.

Capterra found that businesses today are primarily using external firms for data intelligence, custom software or web development, and cloud services. Organizations purchasing marketing services spend the most on a single project, while those buying software development and cloud services spend the most over an 18-month period. Purchasers are looking for providers they see as creative (31%) and flexible (31%), and nearly a third (32%) of services purchasers contracted for custom software or web development.

“We’re launching the service provider marketplace on Capterra.com to provide a one-stop-shop for businesses to find the right software and services they need to grow,” says Claire Alexander, Group Vice President, Brand Portfolio and Marketing. “Time is a mission-critical resource for every organization. Our comprehensive catalog, validated reviews, and world-class research helps businesses make the best use of their time, leading to sustained business growth.”

Over 21,000 reviews across 21 different service categories, ranging from marketing agencies to accounting firms, are now available on Capterra.com. As with its software marketplace, Capterra’s doors are now open for B2B service providers to list on its marketplace – with solutions and tools to help them understand their markets, build their brands, and capture buyer demand. Providers can visit Capterra.com for vendors to learn more about how they can list their brands, begin collecting reviews and connect with the right buyers.
