BMO partners with the Aga Khan Museum to provide barrier-free access to the arts

New funding supports BMO Free Wednesdays - allowing visitors to enjoy all areas of the Museum on Wednesday evenings for free.

TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--BMO today reaffirmed its commitment to supporting arts and culture in the community with new funding support to provide free admission to the Aga Khan Museum every Wednesday evening from 4–8 pm. BMO Free Wednesdays provides the community with barrier-free access to arts and culture, allowing the Museum to further expand its ability to provide a truly inclusive environment for all.

“We are deeply grateful to BMO for enabling us to make our Museum even more accessible.” says the Director and CEO of the Aga Khan Museum, Dr. Ulrike Al-Khamis. “With BMO’s support, we will be able to continue to welcome our visitors and community for free on Wednesday evenings. We want our Museum to be welcoming to everyone, and BMO’s financial commitment and support are helping us enormously in working towards that goal, which of course is at the very heart of our mandate to foster intercultural dialogue and understanding through the arts. We deeply appreciate BMO’s generosity and look forward to further expanding our partnership for the benefit of Toronto communities.”

“BMO has a long history of supporting arts and culture and we are proud to extend our partnership with the Aga Khan Museum,” said Nadim Hirji, Group Head, BMO Commercial Bank, North America. “Aligned with our Purpose, to Boldly Grow the Good in business and in life, this partnership will expand access, support equity and drive progress for the communities we serve.”

BMO has been supporting the Aga Khan Museum’s Lapis Gala, its annual fundraiser, since 2019, with BMO Free Wednesdays further deepening the company’s commitment and enabling the Museum to continue offering one of its most popular initiatives, which over the years has welcomed more than 100,000 visitors.
