Bluefin Wins Gold in 2023 Cybersecurity Excellence Awards

Bluefin’s ShieldConex® tokenization platform earns top honor in data security platform category

ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Bluefin, the recognized integrated payments leader in PCI-validated encryption and tokenization technologies that protect payments and sensitive data, has won gold in the 2023 Cybersecurity Excellence Awards for its ShieldConex® tokenization platform.

Bluefin has led the industry in encryption and tokenization defense for more than a decade. The company’s U.S. patented, cloud-based data tokenization platform, ShieldConex, utilizes both hardware-based encryption and vaultless tokenization technology to help organizations meet payment data security compliance standards and keep customer payment data out of hackers’ reach.

“We believe data devaluation should be a key component to every company’s cybersecurity strategy, and that means deploying a mix of encryption and tokenization technologies to safeguard sensitive data from hackers every time your business gets paid,” said Brent Johnson, CISO at Bluefin. “ShieldConex provides omni-channel tokenization across the POS environment and online, allowing for the same token to be generated per matching input value – a critical solution as companies increasingly accept payment data across multiple platforms. We’re thrilled to be recognized for this innovation and for our leadership in payment data security in this year’s Cybersecurity Excellence Awards.”

ShieldConex immediately masks sensitive data, including payments, personally identifiable information (PII), protected health information (PHI) and ACH account data entered online, with randomly generated characters or “tokens” upon entry through Bluefin’s iFrame or APIs, ensuring that it never travels through a system or network as clear data.

The annual Cybersecurity Excellence Awards recognize companies, products and professionals that demonstrate excellence, innovation and leadership in information security. This worldwide award program is produced by Cybersecurity Insiders in partnership with the Information Security Community on LinkedIn, tapping into the vast experience of more than 600,000 cybersecurity professionals.

"We congratulate Bluefin for the recognition as an award winner in the data security platform category of the 2023 Cybersecurity Excellence Awards," said Holger Schulze, CEO of Cybersecurity Insiders and founder of the 600,000-member Information Security Community on LinkedIn, which organizes the 8th annual Cybersecurity Excellence Awards. "With over 800 entries in more than 300 award categories, the 2023 Cybersecurity Excellence Awards program is highly competitive. All winners reflect the very best in innovation and excellence in defending against today's evolving cybersecurity threats."
