Nucleus Research Study Highlights 172% ROI and Payback Within 8.4 Months for North Country Home Services with Transition to AlayaCare’s Cloud-Based Home Care Solution

MIAMI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nucleus Research, a global provider of ROI-focused technology research and advisory services, announced the findings of a study into the benefits North Country Home Services (NCHS) realized from its deployment of AlayaCare.

AlayaCare, a provider of home and community-based care operations software, delivered a 172 percent Return on Investment (ROI) for North Country Home Services, paying back their investment in under nine months. Nucleus found that by transitioning from the organization’s previous home care solution to AlayaCare, NCHS was able to increase its reimbursement rate for home visits up to approximately 95 percent.

“NCHS was utilizing an outdated home care software for billing and patient related processes which led to inconsistencies that ultimately reduced revenue and forced the organization to invest in redundant resources,” said Research Analyst Joseph Arocha. “North Country Home Services implemented AlayaCare based on the productivity improvements, strong compliance capabilities and configurability the platform offered, which eliminated repetitive tasks and previous errors almost entirely.”

Key benefits highlighted in the case study include:

  • Improved Productivity. The AlayaCare deployment allowed the organization to utilize a single system for all reporting processes, reducing the amount of time spent on all patient-related processes by 10 percent and translating to more than $78,000 in annual cost savings.
  • Reduced Bad Debt. NCHS’ previous solution was difficult to navigate, and the lack of visibility hindered administrators’ ability to track outstanding invoices, leading to a yearly accumulation of bad debt that became commonplace. Since deploying AlayaCare, North Country Home Services has been able to reduce its bad debt by 84 percent, representing an annual increase in revenue of $19,000.
  • Improved Compliance. Implementing AlayaCare allowed the organization to switch from paper forms and manual entry to electronic records of every visit, substantially increasing its eligibility for reimbursement. Nucleus found that the organization was able to increase the state reimbursement rate of its visits by 12 percent, resulting in a state reimbursement rate of over 95 percent.
