Continental General Announces Launch as a Third-Party Administrator

AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Continental General Insurance Company (together with its affiliates, “Continental General” or the “Company”), which serves approximately 100,000 policyholders across the life and accident and health insurance categories, today announced the strategic expansion of its platform with its launch as a third-party administrator (“TPA”).

As a dedicated TPA, Continental General is better positioned to offer efficient, administrative solutions and ongoing management of policies. The Company will offer operational and administrative support services ranging from claims auditing and claims processing to full policy administration.

Continental General’s expansion builds on its more than 60 years of experience in long-term care, life insurance, annuity and supplemental health insurance and underscores the Company’s continued commitment to pursuing additional diversified strategic growth opportunities.

“Continental General’s launch of a dedicated TPA Solutions offering comes as a natural evolution of our business that builds upon our track record of administering closed blocks of long-term care insurance. With the TPA market continuing to grow rapidly, we saw a valuable opportunity to leverage our knowledge and expertise to expand the level of operational and administrative support services we can offer directly to insurance companies,” said David Ramsey, President and CEO at Continental General. “Looking ahead, we are committed to creating value by delivering innovative solutions and continuing to build a best-in-class organization that prioritizes policyholders.”

Continental General has provided TPA solutions to a number of large long-term care insurance providers, including recently to Employers Reassurance Corporation, a Kansas-based life, accident and health insurance company.
