AHF Commends President Biden for Efforts to Lower Drug Prices

President’s 2024 Budget builds on important drug pricing reforms passed in the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022

WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) applauds President Biden’s continued efforts to lower prescription drug prices for all Americans. The President’s 2024 budget will build on the important drug pricing reforms passed in the Inflation Reduction Act, according to a White House Fact Sheet on the 2024 budget posted online earlier this week.

AHF understands impediments to reform have long stood in the way of bending the cost curve down when it comes to prescription drug spending. AHF looks forward to how new proposals in the 2024 budget will help patients access medications at affordable prices.

AHF encourages passage of President Biden’s 2024 budget. AHF is confident that the drug pricing provisions will continue to reduce Americans’ out-of-pocket costs for prescription drugs and extend the fiscal solvency of Medicare. At a time when drug makers and pharmacy benefit managers force never-ending price hikes onto Americans, President Biden has decided to take on powerful interests bent on profits over health outcomes.

AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF), the largest global AIDS organization, currently provides medical care and/or services to over 1.7 million clients in 45 countries worldwide in the US, Africa, Latin America/Caribbean, the Asia/Pacific Region and Europe.
