Bluesight Hosts Third Diversion Symposium to Explore Key Topics Related to Drug Diversion Prevention

ALEXANDRIA, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--On March 22nd, 2023 from 12 pm ET to 3pm ET, Bluesight®, The Medication Intelligence™ Company, will host its third Diversion Symposium. This virtual symposium will consist of three webinars featuring pharmacy leaders from across the country. This continuing education event for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians is accredited for two credit hours by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE).

These sessions will emphasize best practices in drug diversion prevention and allow participants to take a comprehensive look into different aspects of diversion monitoring. Some of the topics covered will include stakeholders to include in a diversion prevention committee, practice issues to address, and finally, when an instance of diversion arises, how to build out a complete case.

“After a year off, we’re thrilled to be hosting the Diversion Symposium once again,” said Kevin MacDonald, CEO of Bluesight. “Hospital drug diversion continues to be a prominent issue, and it is important that we not only elevate it but also that we talk about the importance of building a comprehensive drug diversion prevention program and emphasize best practices that work for hospitals of all regions and sizes.”

Participation in the webinar, moderated by Bluesight’s Director of Clinical Strategy, Sandy Still, PharmD, provides two pharmacy continuing education credits and features three 1-hour sessions with time for questions. Presentations include:

  • CE Accredited Webinar: Establishing an Effective Controlled Substance Diversion Prevention Committee with Terri Lim, PharmD, Pediatric Clinical Pharmacist, Lucile Salter Packard Children’s Hospital
  • CE Accredited Webinar: Driving Patient Safety: Practice Issues to Address in the Prevention of Diversion with Linda Gordon, Director of Diversion Prevention, UCHealth
  • Case Review: Pairing Analytics with Available Tools to Build a Comprehensive Case with Leah Mitchell, PharmD, MBA, Pharmacy Director, Drug Diversion and Controlled Substance Compliance, Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist
