CMTS Selects New Venue to Showcase the Future of Manufacturing Technology in Canada

CMTS convenes the country’s premier manufacturers and engineering experts with exhibits featuring the latest production equipment and SMART technologies

MARKHAM, Ontario--(BUSINESS WIRE)--CMTS, SME’s Canadian Manufacturing Technology Show scheduled for September 25-28, will be conducted at the Toronto Congress Centre (TCC) for 2023. The event will operate entirely from the TCC’s North Building.

The event will convene the country’s premier manufacturers and engineering experts, together with exhibits featuring the latest production equipment and technologies. Attendees will hear Canada’s most insightful, innovative leaders and technical experts addressing challenges and opportunities in digital transformation, Smart Manufacturing, supply chain resiliency, and workforce development/upskilling.

“With the economy and industry poised for growth in the coming years, it’s important for CMTS to evolve so that it’s well positioned for success as it continues to hold the pre-eminent status of Canada’s leading manufacturing event,” said Arjun Hajela, SME’s group manager – Events for Canada. “With the new SMART economy in mind and our continuous efforts toward elevated customer experiences through our Customer First Program, we are moving CMTS to the Toronto Congress Centre.”

Hajela said SME has worked diligently to alleviate cost and service concerns associated with moving to a new venue. Continuity with SME’s existing core vendor partners will help ensure that move-in/move-out costs are neutral to exhibitors and that they maintain an ongoing commitment to the elevation of the entire event experience that CMTS 2023 promises to deliver.

“With their support, we are excited to build this new and revitalized CMTS 2023 as we prepare for the future!” he added.

Regarding changes in the industry, SME’s Executive Director and CEO Bob Willig said growth in manufacturing is not only about adoption of technology that is smarter and faster, but it’s also about making changes when the global landscape shifts.

“At the Canadian Manufacturing Technology Show, attendees will see first-hand how Canadian companies already are making smart changes, training their workforce, and getting great ROI,” he said. “This event will expose them to several key smart-manufacturing disciplines that will guide them on their journey from a smart factory to a smart supply chain, and most of all, to a smart workforce, plus as part of our community they’ll get to talk with these innovators about their experiences.”
