DIA Appoints Marwan Fathallah as President and Global Chief Executive

DIA Appoints New Leadership

WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--DIA, founded as the Drug Information Association, announced today that it has named Marwan Fathallah as President and Global Chief Executive. Mr. Fathallah will lead the organization to help drive thought leadership and innovation in therapeutic development to improve the health of people worldwide.

“Marwan is well positioned to build on our mission, execute our vision and lead DIA successfully into the future,” said DIA Board Chair, Dr. Cynthia Verst. “He is a transformative and growth-minded leader who is ready to rise to the challenge of a new era for healthcare as we all work together to solve the most pressing concerns ahead of us.”

Most recently he was Operating Officer and Executive Vice President at Ortho Clinical Diagnostics.

His broad ranging global experience spans 30 years ranging from operations, end-to-end supply chain, manufacturing, research and development, quality and regulatory, clinical, medical affairs and commercial execution in the Life Science, Pharmaceutical, Medical Device, Drug Delivery and Diagnostics industries.

Fathallah holds a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Master of Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. He has served on the board for the biomedical engineering department at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and holds more than 25 patents for drug delivery and medical products.
