KBRA Assigns Preliminary Ratings to Sequoia Mortgage Trust 2023-1 (SEMT 2023-1)

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--KBRA assigns preliminary ratings to 55 classes of mortgage pass-through certificates from Sequoia Mortgage Trust 2023-1 (SEMT 2023-1), a $332.6 million prime RMBS transaction. The collateral pool, comprising of 355 fixed-rate, fully amortizing loans is characterized by substantial borrower equity, as evidenced by the WA original LTV of 72.3% and WA original CLTV of 72.5%, and has a WA original credit score of 765.

All the mortgages in SEMT 2023-1 fall under the score of the QM rules, with approximately 96.5% and 3.2% of the pool designated as QM Safe Harbor (APOR) and QM: Rebuttable Presumption (APOR) under the General QM Final Rule (QM 2.0), respectively, and 0.3% of the pool designated as QM Safe Harbor under QM 1.0.
