The Standard Names Michelle Hughes to Assistant Vice President of Supplier Management and Governance

PORTLAND, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Standard Insurance Company (The Standard) announced today that Michelle Hughes has joined the company as assistant vice president of Supplier Management and Governance.

In her new role, Hughes will lead the company’s procurement, supplier governance and business process outsourcing teams. She is responsible for ensuring a strong supplier base is in place to support The Standard’s procurement of products, professional services, software, hardware and outsourced services.

Prior to joining The Standard, Hughes was at USAA where she served in various leadership and procurement roles across the company for 15 years. Most recently she was assistant vice president of Supplier Management, where she was responsible for a team focused on the end-to-end facilitation of the procurement process. Her procurement career began in the U.S. Air Force where she was a contracting specialist.

Hughes earned a bachelor’s degree in organizational leadership and Master of Business Administration from the University of Maryland.
