Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Voices Issues Statement on 22nd Anniversary of Reauthorization of the U.S. Small Business Administration

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Voices national director, Joe Wall, today issued the following statement calling for the reauthorization of the U.S. Small Business Administration twenty two years after it was last reauthorized by Congress on December 15, 2000:

“Congress last reauthorized the Small Business Administration (SBA) 22 years ago today, before small business operations were revolutionized by the internet, smart phones, and the online retail boom.

“We need an SBA that empowers small businesses to survive and thrive by equipping them with tools to succeed now and in the future. This includes modernizing entrepreneurial development programs, upgrading outdated technologies – like requiring forms and applications to be sent by fax –and distributing more efficient communications to small business owners.

“America’s small businesses need a modern SBA that reflects the realities of today’s economy. It’s time for Congress to reauthorize the SBA.”
