Effort to Connect Us Winners Announced: 2022 Colombia CO Tourism Awards

OAG Data Determines the Region’s Most Successful Airlines and Airports

BOGOTA, Colombia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--OAG, the world’s leading data platform for the global travel industry, has partnered with the Colombia CO Tourism Awards 2022 by ProColombia to determine the winners of its Effort to Connect Us category. This category recognizes the great efforts taken by airlines and airports to reach new destinations and sustain the international route network to and from Colombia – insights captured and gleaned from OAG’s versatile data platform.

Announced today at the National Museum of Colombia in Bogota, the winning organizations showcase their ingenuity and innovative aspirations to ensure tourism in Colombia continues to thrive despite ongoing industry challenges. The Effort to Connect Us category winners are:

Airports:

Bogota Airport (BOG)

Airlines:

Viva Air

Using OAG’s platform, the Colombia CO Tourism Awards analyzed comprehensive and critical OAG data to determine the most successful airlines for international capacity recovery between November 2019 and November 2022 and the most successful airports for receiving international services for the same period.

“Airlines and airports are operating in an increasingly unpredictable market,” said Silvia Cruz-Swanigan, Director Strategic Accounts, at OAG. “Our participation in the Colombia CO Tourism Awards shows our data is unmatched in enabling the entire travel ecosystem to navigate volatility and make better business decisions.”

The Colombia CO Tourism Awards recognize the people, companies and institutions in the sector that are inspiring and transforming how tourism is conducted in Colombia.

“We are witnessing a historic moment for tourism in Colombia. Beyond the figures, which are very positive, we are witnessing the transformation of a sector that is taking over sustainability and innovation as cross-cutting attributes, to consolidate a world-class tourist offer, which positions our country as a power world of life and a destination for total peace,” said Carmen Caballero, president of ProColombia.
