Janus Henderson Announces Appointment of New Head of Retail Distribution, North America

DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Janus Henderson Investors is excited to announce the appointment of Michael Schweitzer as Head of Retail Distribution, North America, effective November 14, 2022. Michael brings close to 30 years of senior executive management experience at global wealth and asset management firms, which will serve Janus Henderson well as it enters its next growth phase and delivers on its corporate strategy.

In the role of Head of Retail Distribution, North America, Michael will be responsible for the overall direction, strategy, relationship management, customer sales support, channel marketing and risk management of the North America Advisory, Retirement, Private Bank/Family Office, and Financial Institutions businesses.

He joins the firm from Capital Group, where he was Head of High-Net-Worth Sales and Distribution for the North American Client Group. Prior to this, he held positions at HSBC, UBS, and Merrill Lynch.

“We are excited to welcome Michael to Janus Henderson. His extensive leadership experience at some of the global asset management industry’s leading firms, with a strong client focus, will be critical as Janus Henderson protects and grows our core businesses, amplifies our strengths, and diversifies where we have the right to win—all on behalf of our clients and their clients,” said Ali Dibadj, CEO.

Michael shared, “I am delighted to join Janus Henderson Investors as we focus on working with our clients to bring the breadth and depth of Janus Henderson’s investment expertise to bear in helping our clients achieve their investment objectives.”

This strategic appointment builds on the strength of Janus Henderson’s Distribution team and reinforces Janus Henderson’s continued investment in hiring top talent across the organization. Michael will be succeeding John Ingram in this role, who announced he would be retiring earlier this year, effective January 2023. Michael will work together with the existing leadership to ensure a seamless transition in the lead-up to the end of the year.
