Rockefeller Asset Management Expands Team to Scale Existing Capabilities and Position Growth Centered on Strategic Partnerships

NEW YORK--()--Rockefeller Asset Management (RAM), the asset management division of Rockefeller Capital Management, today announced three appointments aimed at maximizing investment performance for clients and the role of strategic partnerships in the growth of the division’s business.

  • Jason Kotik, CFA® joined RAM in June and has been named Portfolio Manager for the U.S. Small and SMid Cap strategies. He will be responsible for leading the investment team and building out the firm’s Small and SMid cap platform including launching new strategies and vehicles, in addition to assuming the responsibilities of Nancy Fink, U.S. Small Cap industry veteran, ahead of her planned retirement. Kotik has a 20-year track record in Small Cap investing, previously working at Abrdn where he generated top-quintile performance for 13 years. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business from the University of Delaware and a master’s in Business from Johns Hopkins University. He is a CFA® charterholder.
  • Alex Petrone recently joined RAM as Director of Fixed Income. She brings nearly 18 years of experience, most recently with PIMCO and previously with Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley spanning a variety of investment roles across fixed income asset classes. Petrone holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Harvard University.
  • Sheryl Tierney, CFA®, a veteran equity analyst who joined RAM last year, has been named Director of ESG Research & Engagement, with responsibility for fundamental and quantitative ESG research, engagement and thought leadership. Previously, she was Director of ESG Integration. She brings nearly 25 years of experience working with investors at several firms, among them First Eagle Investment Management and Russell Investments. Tierney holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Boston College and completed a postbaccalaureate program at Columbia University in the sciences. She is a CFA® charterholder and an FSA Credential Holder.

The appointments complement RAM’s growing global capabilities following the launch of its UCITS platform and first fund in 2019 and further strengthens its organic and inorganic initiatives. Other recent hires include Paul Elliott, Head of European Financial Institutions, as well as the relocation of John “Chip” Montgomery, President of Rockefeller Asset Management International, to London to support RAM’s growth across global markets. They will also allow RAM to extend the reach of its active equity and fixed income as well as alternatives strategies across fundamental, systematic, and thematic approaches.

RAM also plans to build on recent successes in the long-only space, among them strategic partnerships with Nordea Asset Management on a Global ESG Value strategy, Credit Suisse on the Credit Suisse Rockefeller Ocean Engagement strategy, and Bloomberg on the Bloomberg Rockefeller U.S. All Cap Multi-Factor ESG Improvers Index.
