Old Dominion Freight Line Named No. 1 National LTL Carrier by Mastio & Company for 13th Consecutive Year

Comprehensive industry study recognizes OD as The Best in the Game® for an unprecedented thirteenth consecutive year

THOMASVILLE, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Old Dominion Freight Line (OD) is the No. 1 national less-than-truckload (LTL) carrier for quality for the thirteenth consecutive year, Mastio & Company announced. The comprehensive industry study of carriers ranked OD as the top carrier for quality according to logistics professionals surveyed on carrier performance across 28 attributes. OD has received the MASTIO award for its premium service for an unprecedented 13 straight years, dating back to 2010.

Of the 28 attributes the survey measured, OD ranked No. 1 in 24 categories. Shippers and logistics professionals consistently responded with OD as their top carrier when asked about qualities such as shipments picked up and delivered when promised, delivered with no damages or shortages, carrier trustworthiness, consistency in transit times, and problem resolution.

“This is an extraordinary accomplishment by our OD Family of employees. Being named the top national LTL carrier for quality for the 13th consecutive year is something that has never been done before,” said Greg Gantt, President and CEO of Old Dominion Freight Line. “Our team works hard every day going above and beyond for our customers. In today’s current business environment, having a trusted shipping partner is critical, so we take great pride in the fact that shippers recognized OD as the best.”

“Carrier performance indicators are analyzed based on a survey of LTL industry customers in the annual MASTIO survey,” said Kevin Huntsman, President of Mastio & Company. “We then use the performance attributes to name the recipient of the Mastio Quality Award. For the thirteenth consecutive year, we are pleased to announce Old Dominion was ranked No. 1 among national LTL carriers in the 2022 Mastio Customer Preference and Carrier Performance Report. They earned this distinction for being consistently rated as a top LTL carrier and preferred by their customers for their LTL shipping needs.”

Mastio & Company’s annual study interviewed 1,636 logistics professionals, including more than 11,000 voice-of-the-customer responses to 10 open-ended questions about individual carriers. From June through September 2022, MASTIO reached key freight decision makers via telephone interviews to complete the 18th edition of the LTL industry study.
