Barron’s Names Edelman Financial Engines America’s Top Independent Registered Investment Advisor for the Fifth Consecutive Year

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Edelman Financial Engines (EFE) has been named the nation’s top independent Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) by Barron’s for the fifth consecutive year.1

“To be recognized by Barron’s as the top RIA in the nation for five years standing is an extraordinary honor,” said Larry Raffone, president and CEO of Edelman Financial Engines. “We are grateful for the trust and confidence placed in us by more than 1.3 million clients across the country. Every day we strive for excellence in service of our clients. And because of them, we are fortunate to be receiving this distinction again.”

Barron’s ranked RIAs based on a variety of qualitative and quantitative criteria, including assets under management and client retention which we believe reflect the quality of our practice and the client experience.

“Our firm’s long and distinguished legacy was built upon a simple but important principle – to keep our clients’ interests at the center of everything we do, as we work to help more people move their financial lives forward,” said Jason Van de Loo, head of Wealth Planning and Marketing. “It’s an honor for Barron’s to continue to recognize the high-quality financial planning and investment advice we provide and its impact on our clients and the industry.”

Methodology
The Barron’s rankings are based on data compiled from a 145-question survey applied to their formula. The 7th annual ranking of independent advisory companies is based on assets managed by the firms, technology spending, staff diversity, succession planning and other metrics.
