Heather Palmore, Esq. Named Corporate Honoree by Wyandanch Plaza Association

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Heather Palmore, chief trial counsel at Napoli Shkolnik, was chosen as the 2022 Corporate Honoree by the Wyandanch Plaza Association (WPA) for her outstanding service to the Suffolk County community. She was honored at the Association’s annual Art of Giving Benefit September 13th, 2022, at Colonial Springs Golf Club.

The WPA is part of the Wyandanch Rising initiative, a non-profit formed to foster job growth and economic opportunity for the benefit of the Suffolk County hamlet of Wyandanch. The Association offers numerous arts and culture programs and events to encourage Long Island residents to visit the Wyandanch Plaza for the purpose of catalyzing social and economic development.

Palmore, a native of Amityville, was particularly commended for her work as counsel for Wyandanch resident Wavery Lucas, an amputee who was assaulted by the Suffolk Police Department last November. Napoli Shkolnik is seeking $10 million in damages.

"What happened to Waverly is an example of what happens every single day in Black and Brown communities at the hands of the police," she says. “I understand first-hand, as an African American woman, the need for communities to not only feel empowered, but are in fact, truly empowered to make identifiable, tangible change.”
