Veteran Real Estate and PropTech Executive Janine Steiner Jovanovic joins Middleburg Communities as Partner and Chief Growth Officer

To spearhead expansion of the firm’s operations platform through strategic M&A and third-party management

VIENNA, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Middleburg Communities (“Middleburg”) today announced the appointment of highly respected real estate and PropTech innovator Janine Steiner Jovanovic as Partner and Chief Growth Officer. Ms. Jovanovic, who has a notable record of delivering outperformance for the industry throughout her career, will report to Chief Executive Officer Chris Finlay and will be based in Dallas.

Ms. Jovanovic will focus on building out Middleburg’s operating platform through strategic acquisition of management companies while expanding the firm’s third-party management footprint. Ms. Jovanovic will also oversee Middleburg’s venture, PropTech and FinTech investments and the implementation of these technologies across the firm’s portfolio.

Prior to joining Middleburg, Ms. Jovanovic ran an advisory firm that delivered strategy and investment services to real estate and technology innovators. She previously served as Executive Vice President of Asset Optimization at RealPage, where she led the company’s revenue management, data analytics, risk management and leasing solutions. Ms. Jovanovic played a pivotal role in incubating RealPage from inception and in taking the company public in 2010.

During her more than 25-year career, Ms. Jovanovic has held executive level positions with several other prominent organizations including JPI Companies, where she overhauled systems, business practices and organizational structure to facilitate rapid growth; and KPMG’s Real Estate Consulting practice, where she partnered with real estate and technology leaders to maximize results through innovative technology, process and workforce redesign.

Ms. Jovanovic, who holds a B.A. from Brandeis University and an M.A. from the University of Toronto, currently sits on several boards, including LeaseLock, Tour24 and the NMHC Research Foundation. She also lectures at Southern Methodist University’s Cox School of Business.
