Suffolk West Coast Vice President Recognized by GlobeSt as 2022 Woman of Influence

Karri Novak named Corporate Real Estate Executive Women of Influence Winner by GlobeSt Real Estate Forum for Annual Achievements

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Suffolk, one of the most innovative and successful builders and real estate enterprises in the country, today announced that Vice President Karri Novak was recognized as a 2022 GlobeSt Real Estate Forum ‘Corporate Real Estate Executive Women of Influence’ winner.

Each year, the forum shines a light on the growing number of female industry professionals across the nation who are making positive impacts in the commercial real estate (CRE) industry via their outstanding successes. Ms. Novak is one of 35 women honored as a ‘Corporate Real Estate Executive Woman of Influence’ for their remarkable achievements this year, following GlobeSt’s call for nominations across categories spanning the entire CRE spectrum.

“We applaud Karri on her outstanding accomplishments and all she has achieved in CRE this past year,” said Ken Summers, General Manager of Suffolk Los Angeles. “It’s an honor to be recognized by GlobeSt and Karri is most deserving. She continues to make great impacts within the industry and we are proud to have her on our team here at Suffolk.”

As part of the West Coast leadership team at Suffolk, Ms. Novak is leading the firm’s expansion into rapidly-evolving sectors, such as higher education and life sciences. With nearly three decades of construction industry experience, Ms. Novak is an expert in current trends related to academic and student life services. She has frequently led design-build teams through the planning, design, development and delivery of new campus projects.

Ms. Novak’s influence can be seen across her extensive academic project portfolio, which includes building facilities and student housing projects at UC Riverside, California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo, UC Hastings Law School, UC Los Angeles, UC San Diego, University of Southern California, San Diego State University, and the Los Angeles Community College District. Her commitment to innovation and efficiency within the construction industry has helped Suffolk secure several higher education construction projects this year, including the Child Development Academic Facility at Los Angeles Community College District’s Pierce College, as well as a project with University of California, San Francisco at its Parnassus Heights campus.

Ms. Novak was also recently honored with several additional award nominations for her work across the West Coast, including the Los Angeles Business Journal’s 2022 Women’s Leadership Awards and San Diego Business Journal’s 2022 Women of Influence in Construction.
