MIAMI & DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits (Southern Glazer's)—the world’s preeminent distributor of beverage alcohol—today announced the retirement of Terry Brick, Executive Vice President and General Manager, Illinois, effective December 31, 2022.
“Terry has been a key part of the Southern Glazer’s team for more than 20 years,” said Wayne E. Chaplin, Chief Executive Officer, Southern Glazer’s. “This Company has grown because of his incredible skill set and impactful leadership. We wish him all the best in his well-deserved retirement.”
Mr. Brick began his career in the beverage alcohol industry with E&J Gallo Winery in 1984 before joining Romano Bros. Beverage Company in 2000 as their Gallo Division General Sales Manager. Mr. Brick worked at Romano Bros. of Illinois in sales positions of increasing responsibility prior to the company being acquired by Southern Wine & Spirits in 2001, at which time he was named Vice President, Wine & Spirits. Mr. Brick has been a part of the Southern Glazer’s of Illinois team for 21 years, and prior to his most current role, served as its Vice President, General Manager.

Succeeding Mr. Brick as Executive Vice President and General Manager, Illinois and reporting to Mr. McLaughlin will be Michael Thompson, effective October 1, 2022. Until Mr. Brick’s retirement at the end of the year, he and Mr. Thompson will both work closely to ensure a seamless transition of responsibilities.
Mr. Thompson began his 30-year career in the beverage alcohol industry with E&J Gallo Winery in 1990 before joining Romano Bros. Beverage Company in 1992 as an Area Manager. He then held multiple roles of increasing responsibility at Millenium Brands, LTD and Millenium Imports, LLC before joining Southern Wine & Spirits in 2005 as General Manager, Signature Wine & Spirits. Since that time, Mr. Thompson has held a series of leadership roles at Southern Glazer’s culminating in his most recent role as Executive Vice President and General Manager, Indiana.
Mr. Thompson earned his MBA from J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management and holds a Bachelor of Arts, Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Management from Michigan State University. An announcement for Mr. Thompson’s replacement will be forthcoming.
