According to the Hype Cycle for Security Operations, 2022; Hype Cycle for Storage and Data Protection Technologies, 2022; and Hype Cycle for Data Management, 2022: “Data Discovery and Management software (DDM) discovers, analyzes, indexes, searches, tracks and reports on multiple unstructured and structured data sources.” ¹
