3STEP Sports Acquires Tri-State Elite Volleyball Club

Cincinnati-Based Club Another Key Addition to Volleyball Division

WILMINGTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--3STEP Sports, the nation’s largest and most impactful youth sports club and event operator, has acquired Tri-State Elite Volleyball Club, adding another nationally-recognized club to its volleyball division.

Based in Cincinnati, Tri-State Elite was founded in August 2013 as a six-team club focused on providing the best training in the area by putting the athletes first. The original teams were primarily built from Team Z rosters when coach Rich Zeciski stepped away from coaching. Zeciski has been a top coach and mentor to so many coaches in the Greater Cincinnati area for years.

Tri-State Elite has now grown into a nationally-recognized club. The goals of the club are to offer elite training from the top coaches in the area and to develop close-knit teams that begin playing together at a young age and stay together for many years. Zeciski is back on the court along with a strong lineup of coaches.

“We’ve come a long way in a short amount of time,” said Kelly Crowley, who is co-director of Tri-State Elite along with Matt Long and Kevin Lucas. “We started practicing at Xavier University and now have our own facility. We always wanted to be known as more than a Greater Cincinnati volleyball program and now draw from all around the area. We’re very excited to join the growing 3STEP volleyball group and work together with the best clubs in the country.”

The 3STEP reach spans 43 states and serves more than 3.2 million athletes across nine sports through industry-leading events, nationally spanning club programs, premier media content and more. 3STEP was founded by David Geaslen, who sought to create better experiences and more opportunities for athletes and their families. The mission of 3STEP is to be the standard of the youth sports experience and create consistency in the industry. 3STEP also operates the non-profit charity Mission Win, which aims to transform the lives of children through sports participation, leadership training and professional development.

“Tri-State Elite aligns perfectly with 3STEP and our vision,” said Geaslen. “Kelly Crowley, Matt Long and Kevin Lucas started out small and put in the work. Now, they’ve grown into an elite club. They will fit into our volleyball group seamlessly and will immediately add value to our organization.”
