Granite Wins Recognition for Early Talent Engagement

WATSONVILLE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--On June 14th, Granite (NYSE:GVA), was announced as a winner of Handshake’s Early Talent Awards (ETA). This annual award program recognizes employers for best-in-class talent engagement and celebrates the top workplaces that attract Gen Z. This is Granite’s second ETA recognition in as many years.

The award is based on the following criteria: brand resonance with Gen Z, engagement (unique clicks per distinct message recipient), event participation (career fair/event registrants to attendees), and relationships (reciprocal messaging between student and employer). These criteria reflect the shifting requirements to attract the best talent of Gen Z and emphasize the need for companies to be fully engaged in pursuing this talent.

“The Handshake ETAs highlight our commitment to and focus on early talent,” explained Jessica Somers, talent acquisition manager. “That population group does so much to shape our company and our industry. This award showcases our investment in growing the next generation of builders, not just through monetary investment, but through providing excellent learning opportunities for students to participate in internships and for young people to launch their careers.”

“It’s great to see our efforts in this area recognized,” added Tim Gruber, senior vice president of human resources. “Our team did an incredible job in the past year to engage with young talent. Our best-in-class college recruitment programs allow us to bring in the best students and really home in on diverse talent to create a more inclusive workforce now and in the future.”
