Mother & Grandmother File Lawsuit
The Bodies of the Toddlers Have Not Been Found
--(BUSINESS WIRE)--McCoy Law Firm:
WHO: |
Biological mother Ryan Dean and grandmother Dana Moore of two murdered brothers, 4-year-old Classic Pettus and 3-year-old Cinsere Pettus, represented by Waukeen Q. McCoy, Esq. of McCoy Law Firm have filed a lawsuit (Case 222-AT-00626) charging the Kern County toddlers were unlawfully taken by California public agencies and given to state-appointed foster parents who are charged with their murder. |
|
Cinsere Pettus was allegedly taken from his mother three months after his birth by California government agencies, while other children in the home were not removed. |
||
The plaintiffs are suing the State of California Department of Social Services, Kern County Human Services and the foster parents who are charged with their murder for wrongful death and violations of multiple civil rights. |

WHY: |
The boys were unlawfully taken by Kern County Human Services which is supervised by State of California Department of Social Services, who together denied the biological mother and grandmother’s requests to reunify with the children before they were murdered. The suit alleges the foster home was a “state-created danger” that led to the eventual disappearance and murder of the two young boys. | |
QUOTE: |
“If we cannot trust the State of California Department of Social Services or Kern County Human Services to ensure children are unified with their birth families, how can we ensure these children are safe? In addition to recognition of this tragic loss, we are asking for reform in the family unification process,” said Waukeen Q. McCoy. |
