Fiduciary Trust International Names Julie Strong Karnavas Regional Managing Director for the Pennsylvania Region

Two Years After Acquisition of Pennsylvania Trust, Firm’s Radnor Office is Stronger Than Ever

RADNOR, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Fiduciary Trust International, a global wealth manager and wholly-owned subsidiary of Franklin Templeton, announces that Julie Strong Karnavas has assumed the role of regional managing director for the Pennsylvania market.

Ms. Karnavas, who is based in the firm’s Radnor office and was previously director of portfolio and relationship management, will continue working with clients as a senior portfolio manager actively involved with the investment team. She will also continue to serve on the firm’s management committee. Ms. Karnavas takes over as regional managing director from George McFarland, who will remain a senior portfolio manager and a member of the local management team in Radnor. Mr. McFarland also continues to serve on Fiduciary Trust International’s executive committee at the national level.

“We have a very talented and dedicated team of professionals in Radnor, led by George and Julie, who have positioned us to provide financial peace of mind to clients over the long term,” said Gene Todd, executive vice president and head of regional markets for Fiduciary Trust International. “Julie’s energy, top-tier industry experience, and commitment to client service make her an exceptional leader who will manage our ongoing growth in Pennsylvania well into the future.”

Fiduciary Trust International expanded into the Pennsylvania region following the completion of its acquisition of Radnor-based wealth management firm Pennsylvania Trust Company in May 2020. The Radnor office provides a robust suite of personalized investment management, trust, estate, financial and tax planning, and tax preparation services. The Radnor practice has extensive roots in Philadelphia and the Main Line, with Pennsylvania Trust having been established in 1986.

Over the past two years, Fiduciary Trust International has expanded all of its service teams in Radnor, having added:

  • Senior portfolio manager Amanda Rice, and portfolio managers Peter Niedland and Julia Wirts
  • Investment associate George Earle
  • Trust officers John Hill and Todd Reckamp
  • Senior relationship manager Philip Jodz
  • Relationship associates Nicole Briggs, Alexis DeSimone, Kimmy Hammett, and Terri Harris
  • Business development associate Ashley Nastasi

“Despite the uncertainty in the markets, our clients continue to place their confidence in us, as evidenced by the ongoing increase in referrals and added assets,” said Ms. Karnavas. “Our client relationships are at the forefront of everything we do. The deep reserves of expertise and resources across the Fiduciary Trust International organization will empower us to stay one step ahead of market and industry developments as we work with clients to increase and protect their wealth across generations.”

Earlier in her career, she served as senior portfolio manager at Glenmede Trust Company, where she was lead relationship manager for several of Glenmede’s complex family and foundation relationships. Ms. Karnavas began her wealth management career at Northern Trust, where she served as senior portfolio manager in the firm’s investment counseling unit. She is a former member of the board of directors of the ALS Association’s Greater Philadelphia Chapter and serves on the Investment Committee for St. David’s Episcopal Church in Wayne, PA.
