Siemens Defense Cloud SaaS is FedRAMP “Ready” at High Impact Level

RESTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Siemens Government Technologies (SGT), Inc., today announced its Siemens Defense Cloud software-as-a-service (SaaS) application suite is Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) “Ready” and now listed on the Marketplace site for U.S. government agencies to review. FedRAMP is a government-wide program that promotes the adoption of secure cloud services across the federal government by providing a standardized approach to security and risk assessment for cloud technologies and federal agencies.

Siemens’ Teamcenter® X software – the digital thread component of the Siemens Xcelerator as a Service portfolio for instant-on Teamcenter adoption – is the foundational application for the Siemens Defense Cloud. Teamcenter is recognized as a leading product lifecycle management (PLM) software serving the Department of Defense (DoD) and the aerospace and defense industry. Evaluated for FedRAMP Ready at the FedRAMP “High Impact” level, Siemens Defense Cloud has the capability to handle the government’s most sensitive, unclassified data for cloud computing environments.

Teamcenter was recently identified by the U.S. Air Force as its choice to support digital acquisition and sustainment strategy for critical systems and technologies across the service branch, and is also being used by the U.S. Navy as part of its N-PLM strategy. Now that Teamcenter is available via the Siemens Defense Cloud, any federal agency can rely on the standardized framework established by FedRAMP for evaluation of the software’s cyber secure risk mitigation preparedness, to provide essential capabilities connecting people and processes, across functional silos, with a digital thread for innovation.

“Teamcenter is a proven PLM software that aerospace and defense customers have trusted for years to successfully integrate mission critical, disparate repositories of data for cost-effective program development, acquisition and sustainment,” said Kristin Cochran, Vice President of Digital Solutions for SGT. “Now that we’re able to extend this experience to the cloud for our current customers and new ones, we can provide options for any government agency no matter where they may be in their digital transformation and cloud adoption journey. We look forward to partnering with a government sponsor to achieve full authority to operate,” Cochran added.
