Lightbits Labs Appoints Global FinTech Innovator to Advisory Board

Dr. Yoav Intrator adds strategic leadership with extensive experience in financial services, HighTech, SaaS, and cloud technology sectors

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Lightbits®, the first software-defined and NVMe® data platform for any cloud, today announced that its board of directors has named world-renowned technology innovator and visionary Dr. Yoav Intrator to its advisory board.

Dr. Intrator is a sought-after global executive with extensive expertise in financial services, HighTech, Telco, Software as a Service (SaaS), cloud technologies, artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning (ML). He is known for developing and managing new products and services while architecting global enterprise-wide pioneering strategies that create and drive business value. While currently a board member of technology startups and a former board member of the Wall Street Technology Association (WSTA), he is also the co-founder of Ri$KQ and has operated at a C-level as President and Board Member of JPMorgan Israel Technology Center. Other financial services firms benefiting from his expertise include Deutsche Bank, XL Capital, and Bank Hapoalim. Dr. Intrator also spent many years developing new and disruptive technologies at Microsoft Corporation.

Intrator commented: “In my career, I have seen a significant number of proprietary hardware solutions that were eventually replaced by software. Over time the proprietary nature of such solutions represents inefficiencies and incremental costs to the business. Today, I view many dedicated hardware devices as an anachronism that eventually will be replaced by software. Lightbits Labs, with its partnership with Intel and VMWare®, demonstrates how costly proprietary hardware and software storage management solutions can be completely decoupled and fully managed by software running on commodity hardware. Lightbits is ideal for businesses that adopt the digital-first strategy and seek to accelerate the digital transformation of their data centers. I look forward to working closely with its leadership team to unlock more technology value.”

The Lightbits Cloud Data Platform is the only software-defined, disaggregated storage solution available today that uniquely combines NVMe/TCP, with built-in Intelligent Flash Management™ and rich data services which can increase flash endurance by 20X. The ability to aggregate dedicated volatile and nonvolatile storage as one large higher performance low latency storage pool provides Lightbits the unique opportunity to deliver superior performance, lower latency, improved data protection, better scale, and superior ROI. It delivers efficiency, simplicity, and agility for container-based applications in a Kubernetes environment, as well as virtualized applications in a VMware environment making it an ideal solution for Financial Services, Telcos, Cloud Service Providers, Private Clouds, Public Clouds, and Edge Clouds.

“Lightbits has always taken great pride in its level of innovation and commitment to pushing the envelope when it comes to technology. With Dr. Intrator joining the Lightbits advisory board, we will continue to drive the organization in the right direction as storage is one of the core building blocks to create success in today's digital world,” said Eran Kirzner, CEO of Lightbits Labs.
