Baron & Budd Investigates Potential Defect in Home Roof Tar Underlayment

Homeowners may be facing extensive damage and costs due to faulty roof underlayment

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today, the national law firm of Baron & Budd announced it is investigating claims regarding a potential defect in roof tar underlayment. Signs of a faulty roof underlayment include a tar-like substance dripping from the roof or an oozing of tar at the seams of the roof.

Leaking tar can cause extensive damage inside the affected home and in surrounding areas. The cost of cleanup and repairs can be very expensive even with homeowner’s insurance. Homeowners may be out of pocket tens to hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Several individuals have reported issues with the tar underlayment on their roofs. A faulty roof underlayment can only be fixed by a full roof replacement.

“Many homeowners have been hit hard with the unexpected expense and stress of having to replace their entire roof,” said Baron & Budd attorney, Bryan Green. “When a defective product in the roof is the cause, then the product manufacturers should be held accountable for the damages and costs homeowners have incurred as a result of their faulty products.”

The attorneys at Baron & Budd are investigating faulty roof underlayment products that have resulted in roof replacements and repairs by the homeowners.

Baron & Budd has represented plaintiffs in some of the most high-profile automobile defect cases. Our attorneys filed the first lawsuit in the Takata Airbag Recall and represented plaintiffs in the Volkswagen Audi Emission Fraud Lawsuit.
