As Awareness Surges, Learnfully Scales to Meet Demand for Personalized Learning

Company scales as the public recalibrates how it views learning and neurodiversity

REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--()--As Covid-19 has driven learning online and the pandemic has shined a spotlight on mental health, there's been a greater awareness around neurodiversity and the need for personalized learning.

Learnfully, a first of its kind personalized learning platform, is growing rapidly to meet this increasing demand in the industry.

"As children have learned in a virtual environment, their parents have had a front row seat to their education," said Letha McLaren, CEO and Co-Founder, Learnfully. "As a result, there's been a greater awareness surrounding children's individual learning needs. We're looking forward to continuing our growth and scaling to meet this expanding demand for personalized learning."

Learnfully has experienced rapid acceleration in recent months. So far in 2022, the company has:

  • Scaled learners, caregivers, and educators: Learnfully has seen a 223% YoY increase in monthly instructional sessions delivered, while doubling the number of specialists available on its platform. The company continues to see a 90% engagement rate (WAU) from the caregiver community.
  • Added distinguished advisors: the company named experts from the edtech and healthcare industry, including Crystal Hutter (edtech), John Wood (edtech), and Anu Vora (healthcare), as advisors to help Learnfully scale to meet rapid demand.
  • Built out its engineering team: the company hired a new head of engineering, Sean Canavan, to direct its continued product investments.
  • Been named to LEGO Foundation's inaugural "Play for All" Accelerator: the company was one of 25 organizations from around the world to travel to Denmark to take part in the program.
  • Closed its Seed round: the company rounded out its Seed round with new investors including LearnStart, Learn Capital's seed fund, who joined prior investors Goodwater Capital, Incite.org, Figure Eight Investments, Divergent Investments, and more.
  • Earned industry accolades: the company was named a "Startup to Watch" by the Silicon Valley Business Journal, recognized as an Elite 200 winner at the ASU+GSV Summit, and earned an invitation to the AWS Startup Village at SXSW.

"Learnfully is making tremendous strides addressing the critical need for personalized learning," said Crystal Hutter, co-founder of edtech company Edmodo. "It's a daunting process for caregivers and educators to identify a learner's specific challenges and deliver personalized programs. Learnfully is changing the formula, making it easier and faster for learners to get the evidence-based interventions that deliver lifelong impact. I'm proud to support Learnfully as they work to unlock the potential of every learner."

Learnfully's latest data suggests that learning differences could affect 40% of children, illustrating just how significant and impactful this market is.

"The neurodivergent space has suffered from a lack of investment for far too long – as people did not realize how prevalent learning differences are," said Don Burton, VC at LearnStart. "At LearnStart, we're proud to invest in Learnfully, a company that creates a rare win-win for educators and learners alike."

Learnfully is working to expand accessibility, reach new geographic locations, and better serve its learners and caregivers throughout 2022 and beyond.
