RubiconMD Welcomes Behavioral Health Medical Director, Ludwing Salamanca, MD, PhD

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--RubiconMD, the market leader for virtual specialty eConsults announced today that Ludwing Salamanca, MD, PhD will be joining the organization as their first-ever Behavioral Health Medical Director. He will be a key addition to RubiconMD’s team and will help to evolve BHcare, the recently launched virtual collaborative care solution. Adding a Medical Director to the BHcare team further cements the evolving role of RubiconMD as a market leader, not only in eConsults but in virtual speciality care.

About Ludwing Salamanca, MD, PhD

Dr. Salamanca is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons at Columbia University. He completed his psychiatry residency at Mount Sinai Morningside-West in New York City, a fellowship in public psychiatry at the New York State Psychiatric Institute, holds a PhD in public health and has conducted research on the epidemiology of substance use disorders in the United States. Dr. Salamanca has presented his research and lectured on behavioral topics nationally and internationally. He has been a consultant for the RubiconMD platform for the last three years and leads quarterly behavioral health care CME webinars.

Dr. Salamanca’s first day will be Wednesday, May 11, 2022. His immediate focus will be on clinical supervision and oversight of high quality psychiatrists on the RubiconMD panel. He will develop a long-term strategy to continually grow the behavioral health team, recruiting top psychiatrists from around the US. Dr. Salamanca will help to ensure clinical quality standards and outcomes at scale along with a behavioral health clinical education program for clients and customers.
