Regional Management Corp. Raises Over $100,000 in Support of the American Heart Association Upstate Heart Walk

GREENVILLE, S.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Regional Management Corp. (NYSE: RM), a diversified consumer finance company, announced today that it raised more than $100,000 in support of the American Heart Association (AHA) Upstate Heart Walk through its community outreach program, Regional Reach. The company was the presenting sponsor, and numerous team members participated in the walk on Sunday, April 24th, in downtown Greenville.

“Our team is incredibly grateful for the continued support we’ve seen year after year from Regional Management,” said Margaret Stegall, Director of Development for the Upstate AHA. “We are able to fund our life-saving mission to end heart disease and stroke and continue meeting critical needs right here in the Upstate, thanks to the company’s generosity and dedicated team members that support this cause.”

Regional Management has ranked as the top fundraising team in the Upstate for three years running, raising over a quarter of a million dollars in that timeframe, and is one of the top partners for AHA nationwide. Its continued success is attributable to the combined dedication and creativity of its headquarters team members in Upstate South Carolina and its branch team members throughout the country. Many of the company’s business partners contributed generously to the AHA on behalf of Regional Management, as did its employees and customers. In total, nearly 400 walkers across the loan provider’s 300+ branches in 14 states participated in the Upstate Heart Walk.

In addition to fundraising, Regional Finance focused on encouraging employees to engage in heart-healthy activities in their communities. Team members participated in the Wellness Weeks Challenge for a chance to win an extra day of paid time off, which included daily activities that promote healthy habits in the weeks leading up to the event. Challenges ranged from choosing to take the stairs instead of the elevator for some extra movement to incorporating a random act of kindness in the workday.

The company’s community outreach program, Regional Reach, supports both national nonprofit and local Upstate organizations. In addition to serving the AHA, Regional Reach has partnered with Harvest Hope, Meals on Wheels, and Hope Center for Children.

“We are honored to have the opportunity to support the American Heart Association once again, especially this year as we step up our corporate engagements through serving as presenting sponsor for this impactful event,” said Robert Beck, President and Chief Executive Officer of Regional Management. “Our team is passionate about giving back to the community and lending a helping hand wherever we can here in the Upstate.”

The AHA Upstate Heart Walk allows members of the community to come together to engage in physical activity, honor survivors, and raise funds that support heart disease research. The AHA also continued Heart Walk Week, a new tradition that was introduced last year that takes place in the days leading up to the walk with daily exercises and themed activities designed to inspire participants to maintain healthy lifestyles beyond the one-day event.
