Medical Mutual Introduces 5-Star Senior Celebration

Senior Appreciation Week runs May 16-20 with free admission to Cleveland attractions

CLEVELAND--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Medical Mutual, in partnership with WKYC-3 Studios, is inviting seniors to come out and have fun during a yearlong celebration, welcoming those 60 and older to some of Cleveland’s greatest attractions and celebrating older adults’ contributions to Northeast Ohio.

“Medical Mutual has long celebrated the amazing contributions older adults make to our communities,” said Christine Taylor, Manager of Community Affairs for Medical Mutual. “Our Outstanding Senior Volunteer Awards have honored hundreds of seniors over the years, but with the many challenges older adults have faced during the COVID-19 pandemic, including social isolation and loneliness, we felt we needed to do more. The 5-Star Senior Celebration allows us to do just that, while expressing our gratitude for all they do.”

Outstanding Senior Volunteer Awards

The 5-Star Celebration will conclude with the return of Medical Mutual’s Outstanding Senior Volunteer Awards, which are returning after a pandemic pause.

For three decades, these awards have recognized local seniors’ community involvement and charitable work. This recognition is even more significant this year as we celebrate those who continued to put others before themselves even during the difficult times of the pandemic.

Nominations for the Outstanding Senior Volunteer Awards are open and accepted online through June 17. Cleveland-area awardees will be celebrated at a ceremony and luncheon on Oct. 20
