Lexia Learning’s LETRS Professional Learning Courses Awarded ISO/IEC 27001:2013 Certification

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Lexia® Learning, a Cambium Learning® Group company, is proud to announce that its LETRS® (Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling) professional learning programs for teachers and administrators has received ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certification. This internationally-recognized certification validates Lexia LETRS’ ability to protect against threats to the integrity and confidentiality of clients’ information.

ISO/IEC 27001:2013 is an information security management system standard published in October 2013 by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). Compliance with this standard confirms that LETRS’ security management is comprehensive and follows leading practices.

The LETRS suite of courses is comprehensive professional learning designed to provide educators and administrators with deep knowledge to be literacy and language experts in the science of reading. Developed by Dr. Louisa Moats and leaders in the field of literacy, LETRS teaches the skills needed to master the foundational and fundamentals of reading and writing instruction—phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, and written language.

A-lign, an independent, third-party auditor, found LETRS to have technical controls in place and formalized IT Security policies and procedures. A-lign is an ISO/IEC 27001 certification body accredited by the ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board (ANAB) to perform ISMS 27001 certifications. LETRS has implemented several security measures and countermeasures that protect it from unauthorized access or compromise and IT personnel were found to be conscientious and knowledgeable in best practices.

As a trusted partner, this certification separates Lexia and its LETRS professional learning tools from the vast majority of competitors and products and serves as independent proof of our security best practices especially now as districts are grappling with teacher exits and staff turnover,” said Lexia President, Nick Gaehde. “Thanks to everyone on our team who made this achievement possible. Lexia will continue to make data security our highest priority across all Lexia and Cambium products.”
